Inventor/Discoverer – Professor Elka Touitou
Professor Touitou is a researcher at the Hebrew University’s School of Pharmacy and has
achieved worldwide recognition for her work in the field of transdermal delivery. Professor Touitou has published over 100 scientific papers, reviews and books
in the field of drug delivery - mainly on the subject of transdermal delivery. Professor Touitou
is the inventor of technologies that have resulted in over ten patents. She has accumulated
more than 30 years of research experience. Her research interests include:
- topical and transdermal drug delivery: drug penetration through the skin, the mechanism and effects of various vehicles on the course and extent of percutaneous absorption;
- design of novel carriers for transdermal and topical administration; and
- enhanced delivery of drugs through biological membranes.
Werner Tschollar, MD MBA
Dr. Tschollar served as the CEO for Neurim Pharmaceuticals from 1999 to 2003
establishing Neurim Pharmaceuticals as a fully integrated international pharmaceutical
drug discovery and development company. From 1996 to 1999 he served as the Senior
Vice President for Worldwide Research & Development at Novartis reporting to the
CEO & President. His achievements included three NDAs, one ANDA, three POM to
OTC switches, and 22 product launches; establishment of a new product development
pipeline; 22 patent applications and, in addition, he played a key role in the Ciba/Sandoz
merger, which formed Novartis. Dr. Tschollar was the Head of Clinical Research &
Scientific Affairs and a Member of the Management Board of Schering-Plough from
1993 to 1995. He has extensive experience in executive R&D management, regulatory
affairs, quality assurance, data management and documentation, and in international
clinical research program management.
Gil Bianco, CPA
Mr Bianco has over 20 years of executive management experience. Before joining NTT,
Mr. Bianco served as the CEO for Agis Industries from 2001 to 2003. Throughout his
employment with Agis (in various decision making positions), Mr. Bianco actively
participated in transforming Agis Industries Ltd. from a local import enterprise with $15
million turnover to an internationally known pharmaceutical company with a turnover
of about $290 million, owning six factories. In 1992, Mr. Bianco helped lead the IPO of
the company on the Tel-Aviv Stock Exchange. In 1994 he played an active part in the
acquisition by Agis of Clay-Park Labs Inc. in the U.S.A., and was appointed to Clay-Park's
Board of Directors.
Dr. Michael Dalith, PhD
Dr. Dalith has over 16 years of scientific and executive management experience in the
pharmaceutical industry and over 20 years of University teaching and research experience
in Biomedical sciences. From 1993 to 2003, Dr. Dalith was a senior management
member at Agis Group, serving from 1998 to 2003 at Clay-Park Labs, Inc. / Agis Group,
in New York, as a Senior VP for International Clinical Affairs. Dr. Dalith has worked in
the International Clinical Affairs environment in the US as well as in Europe and has
gained broad knowledge, understanding and experience in matters related to FDA
regulations and the working environment with regard to generic (ANDA), innovative
(NDA) and OTC drugs and cosmeceuticals development and registration processes.
From 1987 to 1993, Dr. Dalith worked at Teva Pharmaceutical Industries Ltd. establishing
research development programmes for new drug products.
Prof. Ethan Rubinstein, MD
Dr. Rubinstein is a professor of medicine specialising in the research and treatment of
infectious diseases. Dr. Rubinstein is a member of various American and Israeli medical
organizations, including the Israeli Society for Infectious Disease, where he serves as
Chairman. He has written over 250 books and publications and completed over 20
different articles in various scientific publications.
